Congratulations to Andres Preschel!

First place winner in National Geographic's Kids Photo Contest for the US & Canada in the Animals category. ACES 6th Grader, Andres found the grasshopper on his uncle's grill. The photo has also been entered into the 2009 International Photography Contest. [Click the thumbnail for a larger version.]

Butterflies in SPACE!

No, it isn't a new movie, this is a special project where ten Florida Elementary Schools were selected to participate in an International Space Station life science experiment. The Space Shuttle Atlantis is to carry the butterflies into space to observe their life cycle and behavior in microgravity. The project is designed to generate interest and promote understanding of space life science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Stay tuned for updates!
