ACES Spelling Bee 2020

January 24, 2020

ACES held its annual spelling bee on Tuesday, January 21 for students in elementary grades 4th-5th and on Wednesday, January 22 for middle school students. Congratulations to the winning Eagles!

On Sunday, January 19th, several Eagles and their families participated in the Ellie's Army Dirty Socks 5k and Walkathon, a walk for children with life-threatening illnesses. The turnout was incredible, and three ACES students placed in the top spots of their age group.

Class Picture Day

January 14, 2020

Class picture day is on Thursday, January 23, 2020. Elementary students will take their class photo with their homeroom. Students in grades 6-8 will take the photo with their entire grade level. Photo prepayment is available now!

2020-2021 Enrollment

January 10, 2020

Enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year is open. In the initial Open Enrollment period, applicants have an equal opportunity for admission regardless of submitting an application on the first day or the last day of Open Enrollment. The Open Enrollment period is January 13, 2020 - February 14, 2020. Applications will be accepted for all grade levels.

Uniform Sale

Million Minute Challenge

December 18, 2019

ACES has set a goal to read 1,000,000 minutes as a school before Monday, February 3, 2020.   Minutes will be monitored through student’s reading logs and will be displayed on social media.  All parents are asked to encourage students to monitor their read minutes and complete the challenge logs on a weekly basis.  This can include any minutes read by students or family members on i-Ready, AR, Reading Plus, at home, or in the classroom.

Thank you to everyone for donating items during the ACES Annual Food Drive. Here's a recap: over 300 cans of non-perishable goods were collected, the NJHS Eagles donated and created Thanksgiving baskets for North Miami Beach Senior High, and the Business Leadership class helped collect and count Peace Day boxes. As a result, 498 boxes will be delivered to children this holiday season. ACES is grateful to have helped families enjoy their Thanksgiving. Great job ACES!

Parent Corner

A new resource for K-6 parents called Parent Corner is now available! Find it in the Parents section of the ACES website. Currently, K-6 math resources are available, including lesson videos, module newsletters, and information about i-Ready. English Language Arts (ELA) Resources are coming soon! Visit Parent Corner!

As many of you already know, food allergies are serious threats that many of our students face daily. We have many students on our campus with life-threatening food allergies, and we ask all of our families to help make sure we keep all of our Eagle Family safe. Click the link to learn more.

GO ACES Eagles!

October 23, 2019

Congratulations to Coach Bill, Coach Giocoma, and the ACES Eagles Flag Football team on their 28-7 victory over Championship Academy in what was the season finale for the Eagles. ACES finishes the season with a 3-4 record and despite not making the playoffs, it was a memorable season for the coaches and the team as they fought hard in every game and never gave up. Congrats on a great season Eagles!

NJHS Tutoring

National Junior Honor Society offers morning math tutoring for students in 4th-8th grade. NJHS students will provide support under the supervision of Mr. Cavagnero. The morning sessions are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:50 a.m. - 8:20 a.m. in Room 8-212. Please review the NJHS Tutoring letter on the NJHS page for more information and dates.

Getting involved in your child's school benefits everyone, and now it's easy to sign up to be a volunteer. Volunteers can now sign up online at signup.com. Visit the Volunteer Information webpage for details.

New Bus Pick-up Schedule

The new pick-up times for Bus 1 are in effect! ACES worked with the bus company to make the safest decision, which was to go back to one morning route for all buses. Please review all of the new bus pick-up times by navigating to the Transportation webpage in the Parents section of this website or by clicking the link below.

As you enjoy your summer and think about the upcoming year, it is important that you keep your brain active. Review the attached book list for your grade level for 2019-2020.

EzPay, ACES's online payment system is available for parents/guardians to add funds to student lunch accounts using credit and/or debit cards.

Aventura City of Excellence Charter School will be providing limited bus service for those students who are eligible for transportation. The bus transportation provided is designed in accordance with School Board transportation guidelines. All public/charter schools have limited transportation boundaries set according to these guidelines.

Girls on the Run

If you want to run, express your feelings, and make new friends, sign-up for Girls on the Run! You’ll get to play games while you talk about things that are important to you, like friendship, bullying and celebrating what makes you unique. Registration deadline is Thursday, August 29, 2019.
